A presentation of Persian poetry in Canada

If you are keen on poems, especially Persian ones, and you do live in British Columbia Province, there is an opportunity to enjoy Middle Eastern literature there.  Yagan and Joan McIntyre are going to go to the Caetani Centre Studio Gallery to recite Persian poetry and stories.  Persian poetry

In fact, Yagan will share poems and stories by Jelaluddin Rumi, best selling poet in the US for many years. In addition, he will present poetry by Hafiz, Persia’s favourite poet for centuries on May 25, 2019 at in British Columbia Province in Canada.

Yagen learned to recite these and many other poets and story tellers in his childhood home in Turkey where they were sung and told often as he was growing up.  Persian poetry

From the eleventh century up to now, Persia is enjoying a rebirth of poetry and song.

Ferdowsi and His Legacy; “The Shahnameh”

McIntyre’s stories and poems are more modern, but include some of the attributes which make Ecstatic Middle Eastern Poetry and stories so attractive in 2019.

Finally let’s know that the event runs Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Caetani Cultural Centre Studio Gallery. Everyone is welcomed, however, donation of $10 per person is suggested to help defray costs.A presentation of Persian poetry
