Iranian youth volleyball team won the world championship title

Iran’s under-21 national volleyball team has won the world championship title after beating Italy. Iranian youth volleyball team

During the U21 Volleyball World Championship, Iranian youth volleyball team has beaten Italy 3-2 in a close contest and crowned in the 20th tournament of World Championship.

In the semi-finals, Iran beat Brazil in three straight sets. Iran then had to beat Italy on Saturday night (27th of July) to win the World Championship.

Italy won the first set in a close contest, but Iran managed to defeat Italy in the second and third sets. In the fourth set, Iran was outscored, leading this competitive match to the fifth set.

Iran had faced two defeats against Italy and Russia along its route to the finals. However, Iranians appeared stronger in the final match and managed to beat Italy 12-15 in the final set.

20th edition of the international U21 Volleyball World Championship tournament had been held on July 18 to 27 in Manama, Bahrain. In the last 19 tournaments, Iran was only once among top four teams and won a bronze medal. Mostafa Karkhaneh was couching Iranians teenagers at that time.

In 2017, the Iranian national U19 team won the Championship. Most of the players in the current U21 team are the same players of that team two years ago. Now they have added the world championship to their professional records.

Moreover, the president of IRI, Hassan Rouhani, congratulated the national U21 team on their success in a tweet.
